Hi my name is Thompson Truong, welcome to my E-portfolio site. I am currently in my 3rd year at New York City College Of Technology studying Graphic Arts production management. As a kid I was always very into video games and cartoon shows such as Pokemon, Yugioh etc. I can remember back then every time I purchase a new video game I would always look read the back covers and the manuals while on my way home and admiring the artwork and the layouts of the manuals and covers.
My first step was taking a photoshop class in my junior year of highschool which I had no clue what I was doing when working with the program. However I knew that I can now put my imagination into test by creating new pieces in photoshop. Upon entering college I read up about Graphic arts and decided to give it a shot. During my freshman year I learned photoshop, illustrator and indesign. However I still felt uncomfortable with the programs. It wasn’t until my second year that I started feeling more comfortable with the programs and feel more confident with what I’m doing. I also took a digital photography class which was really fun and taught me some useful things that I can use as well. I made a Flickr for that class which we used to upload our assignments.
Throughout the years I have acquired skills that I can use to build my business in the future. I see everything as a learning experience, although I can say that I feel more comfortable with different programs, specifications etc. The amount of things I can still learn is endless which I can apply to everything.
