my favorite posters were

black is beautiful by huston wilson

in which i loved the decision to use outlines instead of flat color for the 3d effect i think it makes it fun and colorful without being to much and it allows each letter to be easy to see and read making it a very legible and beautiful poster

being you was always enough by eso tolson

while in my opinion a little hard to read i love the hand lettered look and i think the big bold letters remind me of energy and yelling in a good way) like shouting from the roof top that your enough in a fun coming of age movie

and behold the kinky coily curly crown by gia graham

i love the use of gradient in this work and how its used to make your eye follo the words an read them in the right order and the ways she lines up the y’s and the c’s and her use of 3d lettering to make the words stand out which i love because the change makes both the 3d letters stand out but it also makes the norma romen ones stand out just because they’re different

and last but not least the layout i love the titles “the creator” and “the creation” but i almost feel like the leading between the paragraphs are t big while the leading between the two sections is to small making it hand to tell where one section starts and the other ends. but i do love the cohesiveness of the the pages they all use the same grid yet i wish the support section was in the middle of the page like at the bottom still but centered

Good for you for noticing the layout. Leading—or line space—is the space between lines in a paragraph. In some cases, I think you’re referring to space between the copy blocks themselves.

I’m pleased that some of the posters resonated with you and your fellow students.
