You are correct. Gothic type—or Sans Serif—is broad because all Sans Serifs were thought of as “Gothic” years ago. I don’t see your find for the so-called “Gothic” types (on clothes, hoodies, or on scary or Halloween-like items (which are really based on Blackletter).
