I’ll be talking about 08Amend_KitHinrichs.png in the Amendments_2017 folder. The design shows this rather gruesome, horror movie look to it. The design itself is a collage of multiple things, mainly metal-based materials that shape out a face. The design is supposed to represent imprisonment and how whether or not the 8th amendment is followed, or if it’s suppose to demonstrate what shouldn’t be done. The typeface they used is a sans serif which looks like it could be a condensed font, but because the letters are spaced out it looks fine. (It’s hard to read though.)
Kit Hinrichs studied at Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles, California. He was also a principal in many design offices in New York and San Francisco. In 2009, Hinrichs founded Studio Hinrichs. He started Studio Hinrichs in Sans Francisco.
“Kit’s design experience incorporates a wide range of projects, including identity design, corporate communications, promotion, packaging, editorial and exhibition design.”
Julissa, this is a good description of a very VERY strong piece of work. The type is small and a bit hard to read—possibly by design.
One thing I neglected to point out is that it’s important to cite sources of your research.
