A. A typeface refers to a style the type is in, while the font refers to the many variations the typeface can come in.

The first image, Knockout, is a condensed sans serif. The second image, Requiem, is a old-style serif.

B. In the first image, the font is very condensed. Though it looks neat and tidy, it’s very hard to read because of how condensed the letters are. On the contrary, the letters are wider and more open than the first image, making the second image is much easier to read.

C. The image of the extinguisher and the “Yes, Help” poster is vertical type. The image of the “Financial aid” pillar and Bradbury Thompson, “Rain from Westvaco Inspirations for Printers, 1954” is rotated type.
