This is 8th Avenue station. This sign is in transitional sans serif. This station was opened in 1915 but was renovated from 2016-2019. This explains why this sign is in a transitional sans serif, it looks more legible and easy to understand. However, I believe that this type is Helvetica because it was renovated in the 20s and at that time Helvetica was so popular that almost all the signs in the train station were using Helvetica.
