Photo 01: I think this signage is convey to the jewelry. The typeface is slab serif and slab serif does not have brackets to them. What makes me think that convey is the color of the typeface is light blue. I think light blue persuade the reader to know it is a jewelry store because jewelry is a blue and white color. The font is decent for the store for the jewelry.

 

Photo 02: I think this photo represents a food company. Some food companies typefaces are script. Usually they also have a symbol while they have a script typeface.

    Regarding the jewelry sign, good comment about brackets. Indeed, the serifs are very clunky, so it’s understandable that you say the serif is slab serif . . . but it’s not a slab serif. Slab serifs have no roundness at all.

    You’re right. Scripts are often used for to present food. The company in Photo 02 is not centered on food.
