So interesting! Cool that you write stories.
Special Elite definitely mimics typewriter type (the latter of which takes forever compared to the digital version). Typewriters could adjust space between lines only a bit.
I would submit that the letter thickness varies because the typeface echoes the way typewriter keys (and those pesky ink ribbons) inconsistently struck the paper.
