I am reviewing your rough drafts for the Education Narratives & you should all have comments via Google doc. by this Thursday. (Oct. 8th). Then, you have a full week to revise the essay. This will be graded using the following rubric:
You will be graded on:
CONTENT (30%)
- Your essay has an overall point.
- Your essay focuses on either one event or a connected series of events.
STYLE (30%)
- You use concrete, significant details to paint a picture for your reader.
- You have organized your paragraphs in a way that is purposeful: for example, perhaps you tell a story in chronological order, you chose to use flashbacks, or you organize the piece in some other way…
MECHANICS/ATTENTION TO DETAIL (30%)
- You have proofread your document carefully.
- You have paid attention to (and made your best effort with) grammar, spelling, and sentence structure that is appropriate to this genre (in this case, academic writing)
- You have used thoughtful and varied word choice as well as appropriate transition words and phrases
BASICS (10%)
- Your word count is at least 1000 words!
- Your final draft was submitted to OpenLab
- you created a “post” with your name and “Education Narrative” as the title
- you chose Week 8 as the “category”
