Micro-Activity # 5: Discussion Brainstorm

As a new college freshman my first semester started off as sort of alright since its all remote learning at the moment. Remote learning is not really the same as learning in person because I feel like it is way easier to learn in person than it is online through a screen. This first semester for me is sort of a little difficult because its a bit hard trying to keep up with all my homework from every class since each class uses different applications to assign homework and that worries me as to whether I will submit my assignments on time or if i’ll even see them when they’re assigned. Classes would definitely be better in person because I’d actually learn easier and be able to keep track of all my class homework. Another thing is that it’s hard to do partner work especially for my major since its communication designs, I sometimes have to do art projects or homework with a partner and it’s difficult because that is something that should be done in person and discussed in person not online. Despite all the problems with remote learning my classes are pretty great and  very interesting except for my math class because I feel like i can’t learn math through a zoom call. Over time maybe I will end up adjusting to this environment because it does take time to do so bit over all I believe it will get better soon.

    Hi Melanie,

This is a good brainstorm in that you have really expressed a lot of your concerns and reflections about the first week of remote instruction! In terms of your rough draft, I think (from our Zoom call) that you now have a better sense of what you will be writing about specifically. As always, email me with any questions.
