Description
At first when we started this project, we all agreed the problem was time because the first show happens right after strike for the haunted hotel so one way we thought of to solve this problem was to start building during the run of the haunted hotel since during the haunted hotel run the scenery crew is not really doing much. Also we tried to use as much stock platforms as possible because the more stock we use the less we have to build in the shop. The main issue was that the show run was so close to the strike of the haunted hotel and also the quick turnaround for the next show after that. This problem that we came up did dominate how we worked, i say this because we were mainly worried about time so anyway we could save time we took it. Nothing was too hard about this project it just require us to do a lot of thinking and planning. The easiest part was choosing to use the stock that we have here at city tech.
Analysis/ Analogy
This problem definitely appear in real world situations, there are plenty of time where i was working a job but had to rush due to another event going on in the near future. There are things that are different in the real world. Things such as paying people to do the work or even renting a truck to drive the set pieces from point A to point B.
Application
one thing that i learn from this problem is that timing is everything, and it is really important that all scheduling conflicts are solved before setting a date. One way i plan on applying what i learned is when ever i am managing something i will make sure to create an calendar and then make sure everyone can follow this calendar.
