Achievements
Student Government
While a student at CityTech, I participated in various aspects of Student Life on campus.
I started as an officer of the Entertainment Technology department’s Stagecraft Club.
After going to meetings of the Student Government Association, looking for funds for my club duties, I discovered that I was interested in playing a larger role in Student Life on campus.
After spending a year as a senator from the school of technology, I became Vice President in a special election due to a resignation. Later that year I ran for Vice President with a slate of candidates that I had worked for and were committed to increasing student involvement on campus.
We won! I was VP of the SGA for my senior year and was involved with many programs and clubs that brought activities and events to the campus during the 2008-09 school year. To look at our introduction powerpoint that used to play on the TVs in the elevator lobby in Namn click here!
EcoEnvy
EcoEnvy was not only one of the student events SGA produced on campus, it was the culmination project for my Entertainment Technology degree. Bringing together multiple departments and office on campus (Entertainment Tech, Advertising Design & Graphic Arts, Marketing, Student Government, Student Life & Development, the office of the VP of Enrollment & Student Affairs, CityTech Foundation, Theatreworks) as well as resources off campus (City University of New York University Student Senate, the Institute for Sustainable Communication, Aveda Institute New York, Shhhh Salvage Projects and Dana Undies)
As production manager for this event I not only had to manage multiple departments working on the event I had to work for a producer who had multiple backers, which was a new experience for me. EcoEnvy was the largest project I had worked on and for the first time I did not have access to all the people working on the project and had to rely on my department heads to manage their own departments.
The Importance of Being Earnest
During the second season of my IATSE Local One Apprenticeship with RoundAbout Theatre Company at the American Airlines Theatre I was afforded the privilege of working on the production of The Importance of Being Earnest.
This production was especially significant in my theatre career for multiple reasons; I got to work with Desmond Heeley, we participated in a HD filming of the show, and the show extended.
