Important Announcements on your day off please read

Well, I bet that the Chiefs would win the Super Bowl yesterday, and I was right. I am also betting that the morning commute tomorrow (Tuesday Feb 13) is going to be terrible; like I said, there has still been no official word from CUNY, but already Mayor Adams has already indicated that things will be bad enough that we all ought to stay homeHence, I am changing Tuesday’s In-Class Writing Assignment to written Homework, and am asking you to upload it to your Student Folder by Thursday, Feb 15. I don’t need soggy, endangered students struggling into an 8:30AM class because they will miss a few points of class participation. (You’re welcome!)

Please see this document for further instructions about that change. This writing activity is still worth the same amount of points even though you are doing it at home.

I am also going to open your WEEK 5 Assignment Folder today, so that you can get a jump on what work is coming up later this week.

And finally, Whether or not we have in-person class, I will still hold Office Hours Online and can help you, talk to you, answer whatever you need. My Office Hours will be on Zoom tomorrow from 1–2PM and you can find the links to join on the MENU above under OFFICE HOURS ZOOM LINKS.

If Andy Reid were our coach, he would probably say, “Snow day!”

Welcome!

Winter Break is over. Hard to believe!

We meet in person for the first time on Thursday, Jan 25 (8:30AM–9:45AM), but right now, you have a chance to familiarize yourself with a slew of things that pertain to our course: ENG 1121.

So, as promised: This is our OpenLab site. It is still under construction, but there is already a lot here for you to see. Among other things, you can find materials lists, the repository of readings for this course, and a lot of helpful links to services.

I look forward to seeing you all on the first day of class in Namm 521.
