Facing the music, writing the world

Month: February 2024 (Page 2 of 7)

Reminders

Hi Class, A reminder that: there is no school tomorrow, Monday Feb 19; the next day we have class together is Wed Feb 21.

You had assignments/activities in your WEEK 3 folder — including watching and reading about Discourse Communities, and the short What’s In A Name writing (which was due last week).

Everyone should have access to their Student Folder by now! Please bookmark/keep handy the direct link.

Enjoy President’s Day tomorrow. And I will be in touch again very soon.

Your WEEK 3 Assignment Folder has new work for you!

Hi Class,

I have a few announcements.  First of all: I forgot to mention during our last class that there is NO SCHOOL on Monday Feb 12. The next day that we have class together is Wed, Feb 14.

I would like, in the spirit of Valentine’s Day, to show you some compassion; however, being as I won’t be seeing you for a while, and we need to move forward, I have front loaded your WEEK 3 Assignment Folder   with some work for you. Please take a look. It’s really not bad at all. (You have already completed the Prisoner’s Constraint.) One activity is simply to read/watch some materials and take notes to prepare for next week. The other is a written assignment that is due next class.

Why? All these small homeworks will make your Capstone Assignment, coming up later this month, a breeze. They are intended to build your awareness of how language works.

I am around next Tuesday for Office Hours if you have any questions, and, of course, don’t hesitate to write me.

Happy Lunar New Year this week-end!

Oh, and one more thing: I sent out an email to the people who have not yet shared their G-mail addresses with me for GoogleDrive. Until you do that, you won’t be able to submit work to your Student Folder, so please get back to me.

All the best,

-Prof. S.
