“Blue House on Water” James Casebere Cooper Hewitt Virtual Tour

My favorite piece from the gallery was “Blue House on Water” by James Casebere. What interested me was the fact that this isn’t a painting but he actually constructed this on his own. He used plaster, styrofoam, and cardboard to make the house. He also uses a combination of shapes and simple forms. Even though he uses simple geometric shapes, in my opinion, this piece is very symbolic. where the house can mean numerous things and the fact of it being alone surrounded by water can mean many things.
