Blog Entry | Webinar Enhance Your Microlearning | Vyond.com

I was browsing through the webinars on vyond.com and I came across the microlearning video that was given by Karl Kapp and Keith Anderson from Bloomsburg University. The first thing they discuss is, what is Microlearning? They say that it is small concentrated instruction rather than hours of information. Learning content in a short burst that is relevant to the individual and repeated overtime to make sure that it sticks. Karl talks about the difference in Micro to Macro learning. He explains that Microlearning is more problem or topic-based while Macro learning has to do with critical thinking. He goes on to explain why Microlearning, he gives detail that people check their phones 9 times an hour and that content only has 7 seconds to grab our attention. He also states that 70% of people learn on their smartphones and 67% on their mobile devices. The overall message that is being conveyed is that methods in which we learn are becoming more efficient and accessible.
