Week 14: Reflections, Revisions & Portfolios

  • Important: If you have a computer or tablet, please consider bringing it to class this week!

Objectives

  • To make a plan for revising any previous work (Projects 1, 2, 3)–then following those revision plans–for the final portfolio
  • To draft the final reflection
  • To write a cover letter for Project 3 (and to finish the project if you haven’t)
  • To complete any unfinished work
  • TO MAKE MAGIC HAPPEN!!!

For Monday, 5/13

Reading

  • Review your writing from throughout the semester

Writing

  • Make a to-do list of everything you need to work on for ENG 1121
  • Share How it’s going and any motivational ideas for finishing the semester

In Class

  • Write a to-do list for this week. What do you need to work on for ENG 1121? For your other courses?
  • Cover letter for Project 3: What did you learn about your topic, about writing, about yourself, and about anything else you want to write about here? Based on the Project 3 Grading Criteria, what grade do you believe your Project 3 earned?
  • Revision plans
  • Planning the Final Reflection
  • Conferencing

For Wednesday, 5/15

Reading

  • Continue to review your writing from throughout the semester
  • Re-read the feedback you got on your writing, from me or from the Writing Center or other supporters.

Writing

  • Continue revising any previous projects, or finish any unfinished projects
  • Freewrite in response to the brainstorming questions to begin thinking through your final reflections
  • Keep sharing How it’s going and any motivational ideas for finishing the semester

In Class

  • Draft the Final Reflection
  • Group feedback
  • Conferencing

For Thursday, 5/16

  • If you’re interested in working quietly near other people, consider joining the upcoming OpenLab Co-Working session on Thursday, 5/16, from 12:00-1:00pm via Zoom.
  • If you want more co-working opportunities, let me know and I’ll schedule some for us to work together between now and the end of the semester, May 22nd.
