Metacognitive writing allows you to evaluate your own process and reflect on your experience as a writer. When I respond to your projects, I write a letter to you with my feedback. To help guide me through your process, I ask you to write a letter to me as a reflection on your listicle and related analysis essay that answers the following questions in whatever order makes sense for you:
- What did you learn from working on this project?
- What resources (eg. brainstorming, multi-drafting, online discussions, student samples; peer-review, student support hours, writing center/tutoring, websites for creating your text, generative AI) did you use for this project? What did you find helpful or unhelpful about each?
- What grade do you think your project has earned, based on the grading criteria?
- You used your research from Project 2 as the foundation for Project 3. What revisions do you now see your Project 2 would benefit from?
- What do you want help with as you revise Project 2 or Project 3 for your final portfolio?
- Is there anything else I should know about?
If you are not in class to write this reflective letter, please write your letter as a post using the category Project 3 Work. Please make your post private so that only you and I can read your reflection.
