LiveWell Session3

I found myself being extremely stressed these past six weeks. Managing my course load, internship and personal life has been hectic. I was not able to manage my stress level as much as I expected to due to the vast quantity of papers, reports and presentations I needed to complete. Even though I allotted time every week to relax and do things that would ease my mind, I couldn’t do as the tasks required for school typically took longer to complete that initially planned. I do plan on doing activities such as exercising, taking walks, spending time with my friends and reading books to relax. I will be so relieved once this semester is over!

Active Minds

After browsing the Active Minds homepage and reading their story, I found that it is a nationwide mental health awareness program founded by Alison Malmon after her brother’s mental health symptoms went unnoticed and concealed from those around him and later ended his life. Alison’s goal was to promote mental health issues on her college campus.

I think Active Minds is a great outreach, not only to inform someone on mental health issues and awareness but also to supply a resource for those suffering and unwilling or afraid to ask for help.

liveWell Session 1

The first session of liveWell consisted of a few survey style questions which supplied information on the current state of my health. In the past, I was very healthy and fit and visited the gym regularly 5 days a week. For a few months I have planned on going back to that state although I have not been very motivated. Making the commitment on liveWell to address these issues, will hopefully motivate me to be better.
