Homework for Monday, Feb 10

Hi Class,

Here is the homework for Monday, February 10:

  1. Read Helen Keller (OpenLab), Esmeralda Santiago, and Bilal Rahmani ( both in The Place Where We Dwell–our textbook)
  2. Write Journal 3: 300 words describing the intellectual home of Keller, Santiago, and Rahmani (review the definition of Intellectual Home on the Essay 1 assignment sheet)
  3. Prepare for vocabulary Quiz over 12 words

**I FORGOT  to mention that I’ve had to change my office hours: Mondays and Wednesdays from 10-11 in my office, Namm 511.

Enjoy your weekend, and continue to think about home and intellectual home.

Cheers,

Prof. Scanlan

Welcome Message

Welcome Students!

Please familiarize yourself with our OpenLab website. I will refer to it often. And it will become a sort of academic home for us. Our assignments, readings, reflections, and helpful links will all be here.

Make sure that you buy the right edition of our textbook: Juanita But, Mark Noonan, and Sean Scanlan, eds. The Place Where We Dwell: Reading and Writing About New York City. Kendall Hunt, 2014. Note: this textbook is only available in print version. It is also available used, for rent, and in the library.
