Hi Jimmy. First try graphing the function and looking for any x-values where it looks like there’s a discontinuity.
Next, it will probably be helpful to review and write down the formal definition of continuity at a specific x-value. The question is looking for answers that start like, “f(x) is continuous, except at the following x-values…” Then you can list the x-values where there are discontinuities and discuss which of the conditions of continuity fails for those x-values. Finally, you can classify each of the discontinuities as “jump,” “infinite,” “removable,” or “other.” Don’t forget to explain/justify your classification.
The formal definition of continuity at a point includes the existence of a particular (two-sided) limit. Remember that if you change that part to a left-hand or right-hand limit, you’re defining left- and right-continuity respectively.
Hopefully that’s enough of a hint!
