Individual assignment: Is math real?

09.08.2023

Option (e) : I decided to choose this option, because after watching Gracie’s video I have actually become a little curious about how and for what reason back than mathematics / scientists created math facts, formulas and overall ideas. The first thing that came to mind is to search up about what’s been mentioned in tik tok video, which is all known basic formula y=mx+b. George Salmon, Irish Mathematic back in 1848 year created it in his A treatise in conic sections, which later on was published in several editions and further on used by everyone. Also, the earliest known use of m for slope is an 1844 British text by Matthew O’Brien. The slope intercept form is used to find the y-intercept and the slope of a straight line. If you look closely, it is a linear function too, meaning the function can tell you it’s domain and range. Post made by : Iuliia Khutsishvili (Julia)

Gracie Cunningham was a student who went viral on Twitter a few years ago when someone tweeted her Tik Tok and said, “this is the dumbest video ive ever seen.” (That person’s Twitter account has since been suspended btw.)

After catching a lot of hate on Twitter, Gracie made a follow-up video and tweeted it herself. (I like both videos but I think I prefer the first one tbh.)
