Recall the first two HOT topic standards:
- H1: Evaluate an expression using order of operations (may include fractions but no exponents)
- H2: Evaluate an expression using order of operations (may include integer exponents)
As a group, find the two questions on the HOT Topics question list form Week 1 that align with these two standards (there was only one version of the HOT Topics question list in Week 1, but there will be multiple versions in the future).
As a group, for each of these two questions, work through the 6-point problem-solving framework carefully. Have a group member write up your group’s complete answers for each of the two questions (it can be a different member for each question but all group members must approve of the work).
The secretary will post the group’s work with these instructions:
- Title of post: Week 2 group [n] post (where [n] is replaced by your group’s number)
- Category of post: Week 2 group post
- Post must include:
- Names of members present
- Answer for each of the 6-points for the Standard H1 question
- Answer for each of the 6-points for the Standard H2 question
There are many different ways to correctly address all 6 points in the problem-solving framework. We’ll see how different each of the groups’ work looks!
