Animated gif of Dr Hibbert telling Homer Simpson, "Your vertebrae are properly aligned."

One of the trickiest things about getting started with HOT Topics is aligning the standards and the problems correctly. This will get easier as the semester goes on and as we cover more topics in class. For now, you can actually align most or all of the problems and standards on one of your HOT Topics question papers, just by reading the instructions carefully, even if you don’t completely understand how to solve the problem yet.

For this assignment, your group will dig out three different versions of your old HOT Topics question sheets. For each of the three versions, your group will determine which HOT Topics standard aligns with each problem. (Each version has 11 problems because there are 11 standards; each problem aligns with exactly one standard.)

Secretary’s report

The secretary’s OpenLab post must include:

  1. The title: Group n Week 4 group post (where n is your group number)
  2. The group members who were present.
  3. Photos of the three HOT Topics questions papers you are using (front and back).
  4. The alignment of the 11 questions on each of the papers with the 11 HOT Topics standards (you can write directly on the question papers if you like).
  5. Select the category Week 4 group post before publishing.

All group members whose names appear in the secretary’s report will earn participation credit.

(I’m including an old version of a HOT topic question paper here so we can talk about it together in class)
