Women In Design

I attended an event organized by AIGA Louisville called Women In Design: Spotlight Series with Samantha Johnson. The event was on September 22nd at 6:30pm via zoom. Samantha Johnson is a multidisciplinary creative originally from Kentucky with experiences in various fields. She has experience in marketing and events, social media management and product designs. Beside that she advocates for social change and committed to support women of color and the LGBTQ+ community. Some of the recent campaigns that she has worked on include HBO’s Lovecraft Country & In Treatment, Netflix Original Nappily Ever After, Netflix Is A Joke: Essence Festival as a Producer for Verb. She also worked in mental health awareness campaign where they launched hianxiety.org which is dedicated to give helpful resources to people around the world.  Today, she is an aspiring film producer and documentarian. The event was mostly question and answer after she talked about her life, work, experience. She was able to share her tips and wisdom not just about work and career but also growing ourselves as an individual. I did connect with her through linkedin after the event and several other people.
