Our performance was about the ongoing fare issues and the constant struggles of majority of the CUNY students that rely on public transportation to commute to and from school. This issue has been a topic of debate for the longest. There’s already some programs to assist the students with their commuting needs such as ASAP (Accelerated Study in Associate Programs), ACE (Accelerate Complete Engage). There are about 270K students enrolled in all of CUNY every semester and the existing programs only help about 9% of the students by providing free MetroCard. The incentive program we are proposing is free MetroCard for all the CUNY students with GPA 3.0 or better.
