Summary: The funding that NYCHA has been getting is being mismanaged and wasted pointlessly. Eight of the housing projects located in Staten Island needed to be repaired, and NYCHA paid to have it done. This decision ended up costing the city 4 million dollars, when in fact all of the roofs were still under warranty for 10 years and could have been repaired completely free. Prime example of how NYCHA is literally burning away money.

Summary: Example of how nycha employees mismanaged the funds that are given to them, and use it for their own purposes. The funding that the employees receive is meant to support various programs that help residents of NYCHA, such as child care, violence prevention, and job training. This article stated “The president of the city’s Drew-Hamilton housing project in Harlem treated herself and 24 other tenants to a getaway at a ritzy Poconos resort last weekend – costing taxpayers at least $15,000,”. Proof of how New York City citizens taxpayer dollars are used for the wrong reason.

This article covers the people affected by lead paint, and what NYCHA does to discredit any lead paint claims. The article mentions two children that tested positive for lead poisoning, as well as how NYCHA challenged these claims by redirecting blame. It also mentions that NYCHA uses their own employers to perform any apartment inspection, which leads to great conflict of interest. Finally, the article talks about a little girl that test positive for lead poisoning and the effects this has had on her life.

This brief article talks about despite all of the lead paint issues that NYCHA has, it currently has no plans on removing the lead from all the apartments. This admittance came NYCHA pledge to federal authorities that it would tackle the lead paint issue. Despite NYCHA stating that they cannot solve the lead issue, mayor Bill DeBlasion claimed that NYCHA will resolve the issue by the end of 2019. Not only does NYCHA not have a plan to remove the lead from the apartments, it doesn’t even have a plan to test all of these apartments for lead paint.

In this news report it highlights the importance NYCHA have over low-income communities and why should people start protecting from being taken down. In addition, it mentions the issue with NYCHA and Donald Trump, which can pique interest to audience who are attentive with trump actions. In this news report it’s mentioning the situation of Evelyn and Franklin Badia who are facing heating problems. They talk about how they suffer the winter seasons and the way people in the same building try to overcome it. During the inspection of the boilers, NYCHA promised the residents that they were going to bring four new ones however that never came true, it is a widly situation that every NYCHA building is facing and NYCHA isn’t doing much.
