Reflection

Our performance for class was driven to create awareness for Mental Health. The setting we chose was really strategic because our performance was based on capturing students attention in specific. As a team we had different roles such as:
Approaching the audience.
Demonstrating the performance.
Providing informational pamphlets on how to deal with Mental Health.
Our interactive performance was really fun and it attracted people because of the use of games. Coming into this performance we expected people to feel shy and uncomfortable because the topic of Mental Health is not usually spoken amongst young people. The performance had a great positive reaction to the students that were able to participate in our activity. Students expressed how our game helped them deal with the stress they were feeling because of the exams and assignments. On the other hand, there were some students who didn’t want to participate because they had to get to another class. Some of the challenges we encountered was the time we chose to do the performance, and the counseling center not being able to participate in our campaign demonstration . Overall as a group we feel satisfied with what we were able to accomplish and we hope that someone’s perception changed when it comes to mental health.
