Aaron Moore, Dialogues (Revised)

1

(Rest)

(Bob bursts into house, Phillip is sitting in the kitchen)

Bob:

Subway is partnered with the Coca-Cola Company now. I don’t know how long this has been a thing for, I just found out today.

(Phillip almost chokes on his beer)

Phillip:

HAhahaha, bro how did you even find that out?

(Bob pulls out a Subway footlong sub from his bag)

Bob:

Also, also, also- I copped the Nachos Party Pack from Taco Bell, custi’d out. It finna hit, I know it.

(Bob rests down the box of nachos and unveils its contents)

Phillip:

Dude, what the fuck is even going on right now. You really bought a whole sub and a giant box of nachos?!?

(Phillip chuckles hard)

Bob:

Bro. This is the limited-time Nachos Party Pack. You see the extra long box, there wasn’t even a bag for this. I customized it out, steak, onions, three cheese mix, shredded cheese, all the goods. You know I’m a sick one. Dig in, bro, this ’bout to slap.

(Adm knocks on C’s bedroom door. He waits patiently)

C:

Come in.

(Adm opens’s the door and enters slowly. C casually looks up from her laptop)

C:

What’s up?

Adm:

May you punch out my back, please? The straps on my posture corrector are messed up, and I’m barely able to fix them on a good day.

(Adm sighs, exasperated)

C:

Punch out your back?

(C smiles in mild amusment)

C:

I’ve never done that before. You know you still have to make attempts even when you don’t have the posture corrector on.

(Adm makes a visible attempt to stand straight, at which C quickly raises an eyebrow)

Adm:

I do. I try to straighten up when I’m standing-

C:

Uh-huh.

Adm:

-laying down, keep my head up, have proper neck support when I sleep, I stretch, I punch out my own back, all that.

(C turns her attention back to her laptop)

C:

Is the posture corrector effective when you can wear it? At least, does it feel like it is?

A:

Yeah, for the most part.

C:

Great! So you should be in tip-top shape.

(Adm subconsciously slouches again in dejection)

Adm:

I still feel unsure and discomfort in spite of, that’s why I asked you in the first place….

I enjoyed the over-joyed dialogue from Bob when he discovered that Subway and Coca-Cola are partnered, and that he got a massive box of nachos.

  2. Christina C.

I enjoyed the dialogue between Bob and Philip. I have done something similar where I have gotten fast food from 2 or more places on a single trip, so I found it really relatable.
