When I read “Whatever Happened to”, I realized that speaker was expressing these phrases as if it was present. Something that hurt, at the moment. For example, “There’s more to the violence – always more – but male violence is cliche, learned and repeated like a bad sitcom sans laugh track.” This phrase expresses many sensitive words, especially where it says “male violence is the cliche” it sounds as if the author was tired of such violence happening around. In addition, other strong phrases are as follows “But he wanted to perform his violence for her. It was meant to be a take-down of the child’s mother in front of our child” this sounds horrifying as to, Wow why so much violence.
What I most enjoyed reading this piece of writing, is how well they tend to send a message towards powerful words and meaningful words.
