I lived in Pakistan till I was 18 and while I was there, I had only been to 2 schools. The first school was in Multan, where I was born, and the other was in Lahore where I spent most of my life. Upon moving to Lahore, I made a best friend Rehman bin Amir. Back when we were young, I used to call him by his last name because he wanted people to. He left the school one year later, and I stayed in the school. In the same school in 7th grade, a student called Rehman joined my class. Turns out by this point, both of us were huge science nerds who were extremely bad in the Urdu language class. Even though it was our first language, both of us were just bad in the writing part of the language. We ended up becoming great friends. Then after staying friends for 2 years, my mother found my Kindergarten class picture. At first, I didn’t notice anything, but I decided to keep the picture outside because of nostalgia. A month later, while just going out of my room, I noticed the person’s face sitting next to me in the picture is weirdly similar to Rehman. I called Rehman, sent him the picture and asked him if he was in the picture. He said no and well we didn’t think about it anymore. One week later, that genius found the same picture at his grandfather’s and called me to notified me that we had known each other for 9 years. As a good friend should, I made him suffer for the fact that he didn’t know his own younger face in a picture for a while after that. It has been 6 or 7 years since then. We are still best friends even though I live in US, and he lives in Malaysia now. We still stay in touch one way or another.
