I found chapter one of Patchett’s book to be pretty interesting. Liked how it started off by describing the events and situation they were currently in. Made you feel like you were actually in the car with them suffering in the heat. I was also able to relate to her experience of moving in with someone who you aren’t really that close with. Since it ends up just being convenient for both parties involved. Since they are just helping each other out. Some parts of the reading kind of caught me off guard. The main one was when they started talking about their sexual lives. Since most of the pages mentioned something about that. It kinda caught me off guard because I thought the chapter was gonna focus on the drive to the destination and the setup. The setup mainly talking about how they moved in and how the first couple of weeks were. But keeping it on the surface level. A question I have is how were they able to openly talk about these topics.
