On January 4th, 2022 it was a nice and sunny Monday morning when Brianna and Rakib were heading out for the day to spend time at the ice cream shop where Rakib works at. As they were leaving the house each of them had thought that they had a spare key to the house or at least the other did so there was never a reason to stress about being locked out. But little did they know that it would be quite the opposite. They spent the day together, she would stay with him as he worked and had to deal with customers and not too many tips for the day. With the day coming to an end Brianna was getting ready to leave and Rakib was closing up the shop, as they made their way home they asked one another if they remembered to bring the keys? They stared at one another in shock and confusion as though they heard the other clearly state they had the keys when leaving the house. Brianna, the one that tends to be positive and outgoing was angry for once seeing how she didn’t want to stay out in the cold and the only thought going through her mind was that it was Rakibs fault for forgetting the keys. She kept going on “how stupid can you possibly be to forget the keys to your own house?”. As Rakib, the one who tends to be cool and collected was questioning why she was mad at him when he had done nothing wrong. His mindset was more like “if things happen so be it, some things are out of our control”. They were left with 2 options for the time being which were being locked out in the freezing cold or wasting gas by having the heat in the car turned on for a while. They eventually figured out that they should call a locksmith, once he arrived he would take a look at the lock and had to ask a few questions to ensure that this was their home and he wasn’t just helping them break-in. Some examples included, how long have they lived there, is there proof of it being their home, what are some items you own that can be distinguished in this house alone? They answered them all and once he opened up the door they let him in to see for himself the lease, and all the items they specified. Once he left they felt relieved to just be able to be in their house and finally relax as the schedule continued the following day.
