I always thought that friends come and go but it was not until I met three specific people that I can proudly call my family. Allow me to introduce Parizod, also known as Paris, my best girl friend. I have known her the longest amongst the four people and she has been with me since 2018 which was when I moved to New York and started City Tech. She has long black hair, a cute nose, heart shaped lips and is around 5 foot 4. The reason why I consider her my family is because she helped pay a semester for my college tuition. She told me to not worry about paying her back right away and to focus on my necessities however, I despise owing people a favor especially money. I paid her back in full two weeks later thanks to the extra shifts I picked up from my job. She has always shown me loyalty, kindness, and patience so I look up to her. The second person would be Danny whom I actually call Father Chen because he has been a father figure to me ever since I started working at Chick-Fil-A in 2019. Not to brag that I was his favorite but, he has always taken care of me especially when COVID first started. He would buy me food and drop me off home to Brooklyn when he lived in Long Island. He is an Asian man in his 30s, wears glasses, funny, and is very caring even when he denies that he cares. Recently, he gave me a job offer in a higher position for a new store with a higher pay and has really given me opportunities to grow as a worker and person. Last but not least, Abdullah, whom I call Abu, is my soulmate in terms of a best friend aspect. As much as I love Paris, Abu has been with me through all my ups and downs, life crisis, and daily life in general. We listen to the same music, love the same cuisine, and have the same sense of humor. He has brought life into my darkness and given me courage when I was demotivated and depressed which is why I say he is my soulmate. Family is not always related by blood but being an only child taught me that some people will be a huge part of your life so we need to appreciate them.
