I thought Chin’s poem was extremely powerful from start to end. I liked the way she started her poem by basically saying we’re all equal as human beings and because of her race and gender she’s “coded as dangerous, hostile and a direct threat” to white people. She further discusses the way black people were treated throughout history, to how it is in the present day. I was amazed by her performance due to the way she presented herself to the audience shows how angry and passionate she is about the topic. If I was to read this for me instead of seeing it being performed I feel like her message would not be the same.
Hey Angelica
I agree with your words on Chin’s poem. Chin was very honest with expressing herself which made it relatable for some. Also I became amazed of how passionate Chin was as well,If feel the same way if I was to read it the message wouldn’t get across the same to me
Hi Angelica, I totally agree with you when you said that if you were to read the poem instead of watching her performing it, the message would not be the same. They way she reads the poem is what makes it so special and breath taking, it shows the audience that she feels every single word that comes out of her mouth.
Hi Angelica, I definitely agree with your last point. Watching her performance is undoubtedly better than reading her poem. Her performance illustrates passion that cannot be felt from reading her poem.
