I accidentally got off at 72nd street instead of 79th street to go to staples. I got out of the station and felt the cold fresh air, I remembered how much I enjoyed the fall breeze and realized how refreshing the walk would be. I noticed as I got out the station my phone had no service so I turned off my phone.  As I began walking although I turned on my phone I decided to not turn on my music. Which is rare because I feel uncomfortable without it, but this time I really wanted to take in the atmosphere of the city since I haven’t left my house in about 5 days. I walked past a small park and I saw a flock of pigeons fly away. As I crossed the first block I heard and saw a jazz band play at the end of the block. The music got louder and louder as I got closer, it reminded me of how much I miss going to concerts. I was reminded overall the shift that the Virus caused, that week that the lockdown was announced I was supposed to attend a concert. Shortly after I left the city to due to the virus. This walk helped me clear my mind and I was happy to be back in the city, I heard the cars honking and a group of friends passing by. They reminded me of my friends and how we would hang out, although things are somewhat better, it isn’t over and there’s no doubt that there will be a second wave. It’s funny that I was thinking that because I had a friend text me asking if I got that Citizen App notification that said that there were suddenly 1,000 new cases. I didn’t reply to her then because I was crossing a street, as I was already on the 5th block by this point I saw multiple people without their mask, I had mine on of course but its not a hard thing to do, anyone can still enjoy my day and breathe well with it on. The streets got really silent after I passed by that Jazz band a few blocks earlier, which I preferred. I don’t recall hearing any conversations or people. They were overpowered by the sounds of cars and busses. Before I realized, I already passed by the train stop I was originally going to get off of and was in front of staples, but wow Im a fast walker.
