I believe that writing a letter or speech was easier to convey a message compared to writing an essay. To me I feel that writing a letter or speech is much more focused in scope and targets a specific audience whereas a essay is for whoever comes across it.

The other pieces that we read in class really helped me write my letter. It really helped me learn new literary techniques like using imagery and descriptive writing to invoke feelings. I also learned other techniques which I didn’t use but will use in my future assignments like using comedic relief like in Young’s tedtalk.

I think this project has showed me what some of my strengths are and definitely exposed my weaknesses as a writer. I feel that I could’ve found sources that I could quote in my speech. My strengths were definitely the descriptive writing and imagery.
