What I found difficult about this research is finding un-opinionated articles. Surprisingly, for a topic that has been scientifically proven, there are several opinion based articles and rhetoric used to discredit the science. It is also a political/religious issue in the United States which is strange to me. I also found it difficult to find credible resources. Utilizing the library system proved to be more difficult than I expected, but I find that using articles and interviews are a lot more intriguing. What surprised me is how many things happening around us which we can ignore on a daily basis. Up until last week I had no idea that U.S. had a national glacier park, nor that there used to be over 150 glaciers that are now reduced to less than 30. This could easily affect our water levels rising and flood the entire city of New York, but since it hasn’t yet we can easily ignore it and carry on with our lives until it does. I learned how to put my own biases to the side for the sake of my research. Rather than using my emotions to prove a point, I can do accurate and impartial research on a subject.
