I believe it was important for the creators of Antigone In Ferguson to attract people who would not ordinarily attend a production of a Greek play because they wanted to deal with the social, and emotional conditions with their audiences. This was important to them because they wanted the play to show a dramatic reading by the leading actors. Antigone in Ferguson generates compassion within the actors and the story behind it. I believe they included people from the police force in the preparation and discussion of this version of antigone because they wanted to show the power of authority vs the people. Watching the play Antigone in Ferguson did change my perspective of the play since it showed the connection with recent events that have happened to innocent citizens who aren’t in power to show how authority who is supposed to protect its citizens take advantage.
