Civil disobedience is going against a law and expressing this refusal in a peaceful or nonviolent matter such as peaceful protesting. Antigone did perform civil disobedience by burying her brother Polyneices and this was later discovered by Creon. The reason why this is considered civil disobedience is because she went against Creons law of letting the dogs eat away at Polyneices body. Although this is violent, Creon wanted this to go about things this way because of Polyneices betrayal to the city, therefore this is the law. Since Antigone is against violence, she goes about betraying this law despite knowing the consequences by burying him instead which is considered nonviolent.
