Quote 1: “Indeed many types of discourse communities develop shorthand expression, such as abbreviations and acronyms, to aid speed or communication.”

This quote stood out to me because it’s very difficult for many people to communicate and it’s good that there are DC’s to help people work to speed of communication.

Quote 2: “The use of “possesses” is rather strange as it soon becomes clear that there are not enough genres in the world for them to be “possessed” by individual DC’s.”

I got a bit confused with this quote but it stood out to me because when he states “there isn’t enough genres in the world to be possessed by individual DC ’s” oh I feel that genres can be anything and can be made up so many ways do that individual DC’s and set goals, setting there basic values. It can be rarely owned but there could be a major possibility that most not many have possessed a genre.
