Quote 1 “Discourse community both influence and are influenced by the larger communities within which they are situated.”

Our goals are to form based on our interests. Things that gravitate to our interests are influenced by a person or a group of people that gives us an idea of setting the goal we want.

Quote 2 “As we move from one DC to another, our verbal and social behavior adapts to the new environment, but I do not believe that this necessarily implies that we adopt new identities, or that we somehow merely an aggregation of different personae.”

I agree with this quote because many of us are members of a different discourse community, and each community would be different from one another. The way we interact with each group would be different like the usage of our language, communication, and behaviors. But just because we interact differently with each group does not give us the reason to put up a different image of ourself one or other communities.
