Introduction
Why are Mexican American discriminated against? This is the question I decided to write my paper on. I got interested in this topic because I am Mexican. I have witnessed first-hand the racism there is against Mexicans in the United States. I want to further understand why we are looked at differently and thought as less than any other race. I want to understand why many Americans consider themselves superior to us when theyâre the ones who invaded the land from Native Americans. I think in my research I will the many different barriers placed on Mexicans.

Summary This article focuses on racism on Hispanics. Many white people view us foreign. No matter how long Latinos have been in America they are not viewed as assimilated. There is a dividing factor between us.
Reflection I agree with this text. There is a lot of unfairness done to Mexicans. The authorâs writing style is very informative. The choice of genre makes it effective because it’s just stating facts. I know this is a credible author because the document is considered an analysis on news.

Summary Many of the young generation can see thereâs racism. They have issues self-identifying themselves. They wish they could be lighter than they are. Theyâre to dark to be white but not dark enough to be considered African American.
Reflection It is obvious there is racism because someone was called out for looking brown. Kids now a days hate where they come from and wish they could be like every other American. The fact that someone of Latin culture can look American with their light skin and blue colored eyes just shows how supportive you are of this barrier. This documentary illustrates how divided our culture is.
Quotation âOften Times I find a checkbox on a form, and I am confused on whether or not I should put Latino or Hispanic but Iâm Mexicanâ

Conclusion
- Summarize what you found in your research.
- Tell readers what surprised you, or how your understanding of your question deepened or changed.
- Explain why what you learned is important.
- Explain who you think needs to know about your research and whyâbe specific! (The answer cannot be âeveryoneâ needs to know. That is too big of an audience.) Narrow it down to who needs to hear about it first or the most!
