It is, without a doubt, much easier and more enlightening to express my thoughts in a letter format rather than in an essay or speech format. Although an essay format jumps to the main point, there aren’t any connections being made between the reader and the author. Without any emotions being shared in the words being written, the message does not come out as powerful. During this project, I have learnt a lot about myself as a writer. I have learnt that writing does not always have to be tormenting. Especially when you have the free will to freely write about any topic, any discourse, any community, any issue. This project allowed me to think outside the box and use my creativity. Which is something I thought I lacked in college. The greatest takeaway from this project is using your imagination and words to shine the light on real life problems. To me, this is much more important than writing a scholarly paper.

Office Hours: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11:30 AM – 1 PM. I’ll be available through Zoom and will send an invitation via email that you should keep all semester. Try to join my meeting at the start of the hour, not at the end—since I may be talking to other students or have another appointment after the hour is up. If those times don’t work with your schedule, we can schedule a different time. This means you’ll have to schedule an appointment in advance via email. I suggest you have multiple times in mind, since your schedule may not mesh with mine!
