Tanjum Siddika, Wollstonecraft & Young

Wollstonecraft writing this letter to aware people of women’s rights in the French revolution era. She primarily focused on women’s education; through education would come emancipation. In the French revelation era, the main concept of life was a man should work outside and women to take care of the family but her argument was women should be educated and if they are given the opportunity to they have the capability to be equal to their partner. Wollstonecraft’s discourse community is about woman’s rights and woman’s education. The recipient seems to be part o the group.

Young presenting this speech to inspire people to take disability as the norm but not as an exception. The issue that she identifies is that disability is shown as a social dilemma. Society sees disability as an exception, anything a disabled person does portrait as an achievement. However, these are fairly normal things they do. Her discourse community is that of disable people. The recipient seems to be a part of the community.

    -Wollstonecraft’s letter is for higher office, she wrote this letter to this person that she knew that person would influence the public.
    – For Young’s speech, she gave a persuasive speech. This allows the audience to feel a connection between her life and her achievements. She wants her audience to take this as an opportunity to educate about disability; is normal and they could live like a normal person.
