Something that I liked in “How to read like a writer” is when start talking about marking up the text and making comments as you read them and summarize it “Was to make up the text, make comments in the margins, and write yourself notes and summaries both during and after the reading.” (81) I think this is a good idea because a lot of people when they are reading and finish the book some people give a summarize about what they read but not a lot of detail, so if you summarize while your reading it you will get more information about the whole book instead of bits and pieces of what you read.
