Police aggression – Poem
- The paragraphs are relatively short, it’s about a 2-3 min reading poem.
- Yes they use imagery because they talk about how George Floyd was killed cold-blooded and the police are “caged like the animal they are surrounded by steel” which means they are behind bars
- This is a 2nd point of view because he is telling the audience about police brutality and using the word “you” with the context of saying we as a group. And it’s 3rd person point of view because the poet is using “they” and “it” and it’s telling a certain audience
- There is dialogue because it’s talking about what happened to George Floyd and how he was killed and that he wasn’t the only one who died like that.
- The tone of the poem is Optimistic, encouraging, and hopeful because the creator is hoping that people read the poem and hoping that people will
- It’s organized by first telling what happened and how they killed him, then how they are now in jail where they belong instead them hiding behind justice lie, talks about how he wasn’t the only one and that there have been multiple victims that have been killed by cops, then it talks about how we are together and that we aren’t alone against the aggressive polices.
- I chose “To show you we are not alone and together we will stand tall.” because it’s telling that no one is alone when something happens to someone of color and that we aren’t alone against the police and we are together regarding of blood
