Summary: This passage is by The Law Firm of Christopher T. Adams, P.C. It talks about why certain police become more aggressive when the approach someone they don’t know when the police think they did a crime even though they know they aren’t suppose to use that much force. And that they try to by pass the law to catch people off guard and people who don’t know how to protect themselves against them so they use it to their advantage. Like how people let polices go into their house when the police ask them, they are going to say yes because those people are scared of the police doing any harm to them. And that a lot of polices take their anger and frustration on the next person they have to go to or pull over and they become more aggressive towards the person they have to come up to. You just need to know how to defend yourself passively and not aggressive towards polices.

Reflection: I agree with this because I’ve realized that a lot of policies have become more aggressive toward people because of their job which is understandable because not every police can act nice to the person who they are going up to because they don’t know them at all, and they don’t know what they are capable of doing. And before they come up they may seem angry because the last person probably did something that could of annoy him like being aggressive when talking to them, or doing something thats illegal and saying he did nothing when he knows he did something. So when a police pull up to your door, or car, or wherever you are you just need to act calm and know your rights about what a police can and can not do before doing something rash towards them to make you seem in the wrong.

Quotation: “If you have had many encounters with the police, you may have realized that some officers tend to act aggressively even in situations where it isn’t warranted. For instance, maybe the officer came to your house and asked to come in and talk to you. Knowing your rights, you politely refused and asked them to get a warrant.”

“Officers also learn to adopt an aggressive personality in some cases, regardless of how they feel. They may deal with other aggressive individuals every day and feel like they have to act in kind to get anything done. They’re also taught to be aggressive and forceful in order to intimidate others — which comes in handy when they’re dealing with someone who is inclined to disobey the law. Unfortunately, that aggression and intimidation can become second nature and is capable of being misdirected or misused.”
