Everybody have their own perspective about āAllegory of the Caveā (Book VII) from The Republic by Plato. In my perspective, the āAllegory of the Carveā, Plato was using the cave to symbolize the world of appearances and sensory perception. The liberated prisoner’s journey represents the quest for knowledge and the enlightenment that comes from understanding the universe of forms and ideas., which Plato thought to be the reality. “Allegory of the Cave,” (Book VII) from The Republic by Plato, the characters involved that Iāve seen are Prisoners, Shadows, Puppeteers, and Sun. Plato uses these ācharactersā to show his philosophical concepts regarding the difference between the world of appearances and the world of true knowledge and reality in the allegory. Overall, āAllegory of the Cave,ā(Book VII) from The Republic by Plato is a metaphor used in philosophy to show the progression from ignorance to illumination. An image that represents the limited understanding of people who are constrained by sensory perception and erroneous beliefs.Ā
