All 3 pieces of the writing by Douglass, Malcolm X and Jiang are educational narratives. All three stories are based on the authorās experience/storytelling. Jiang is telling us the experience she had in her younger days about her grandma and surrounding. Douglass tells his experience of being a slave for his life and explaining what can be done. Malcolm X conveys his knowledge increasing based on self taught in jail and then states how his view of the world increases into making him an activist. To conclude, all three authors would explain their experience whether they went through hardship or in general lessons that wants to be told to the audience.
